Friday Foodbank Service
Sittingbourne Baptist Church provides a Foodbank service on Friday mornings between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Help where it is needed
Those who come to us are welcomed and offered tea or coffee and biscuits, before being helped through the process and the prospect of receiving much needed food.
The Foodbank is there to support individuals and families with this vital service.
Our team of volunteers are there to help those that come through our doors. They listen and sensitively try to understand the needs of our visitors.
Our Volunteers
The SBC Foodbank can only operate effectively because of our volunteers who give up their time to work face to face with those in need of the Foodbank service. Volunteers also work hard behind the scenes in church, in the warehouse and in transportation and administration.
All personal information of visitors is handled with discretion and under strict guidelines, for the protection of those in need of the Foodbank service.
Our volunteers are wonderful and bring a positive and caring attitude. They work together with such care for each other and the voluntary role they have chosen to undertake. They are a blessing.
Part of a larger network
The Foodbank at Sittingbourne Baptist Church operates as part of a larger network under the Swale Foodbank and the Swale Trussell Trust charities.
A team of people work at a warehouse, organising and tracking food stock, administrations and overseeing funding which comes mainly from donations and charity bids.
