We begin a new sermon series for the new year of 2024 entitled “Refocus”. Preaching from Nathan Gordon.

Sermon Notes

Welcome to the first Sunday in 2024 and Happy New Year to you all. May the grace of almighty God abide in everything you seek to do this year.

Why is vision important? – God the perfect visionary

God has revealed himself throughout the Bible as a master visionary and planner, who does everything well and moves with precision and attention to detail. God moves with purpose and intentionality from creating the world in six days, guiding the Israelites out of captivity, or sending His only begotten Son into the world to bring salvation to all who would trust in Him. God is a God of purpose and vision.

If people cant see what God is doing, they stumble all over themselves; But when they attend to what he reveals, they are most blessed.

Proverbs 29:18 MSG

Without a vision from God, we are unable to see or understand the path He has ordained for our lives. When God speaks vision we know where we are going and how we can serve his perfect will. A church that understands God’s vision will be spiritually charged and galvanised to unite and pursue the things of God.

Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Psalm 37:4

Why vision boards?

Vision boards are a great way of outlining and displaying the things God has placed in your heart for the year. It serves as a visual reminder to keep you on track of your goals throughout the year.

There are two options this morning, either create a vision board using cut-out pictures from magazines and articles or you can just write your goals and vision or a combination of both.

At the conclusion, we are going to pray together and ask God’s blessing over our vision boards.
